Week 5: Start Em' And Sit Em'

QB Starts

Trevor Lawrence vs Texans

The Texans defense is as bad as it gets, it’s that simple. Lawrence has at least two passing touchdowns in his last three games with only 2 interceptions on the year. The Jaguars offense is better than we’ve seen in recent years and Lawrence and Doug Pederson have that team playing some really good football.

Ryan Tannehill at Commanders

Ryan Tannehill has had a surprisingly good year after losing AJ Brown to Philly in the offseason. Other than that week 2 game against the Buffalo Bills he’s had three games over 18 fantasy points. The Commanders have given up 10 passing touchdowns and over 23 fantasy points a game. Tannehill doesn’t have the top name weapons but he’s still getting it done as a solid streamer that has sneaky rushing upside as well.

QB Sit

Matthew Stafford vs Cowboys

The Cowboys defense has only allowed 12 fantasy points per game to QBs this season and have quickly shown that their 2021 season was not a fluke. Stafford has 4 touchdowns to 5 interceptions. The key to Fantasy Football is scoring touchdowns and when a player (especially a QB in a high powered offense) isn’t scoring them it’s not a good sign.

RB Starts

Miles Sanders at Cardinals

The Eagles offense finally looks like they're giving Sanders the full workload that we’ve been waiting for him to get since he was drafted in 2019. Sanders is a top 5 fantasy RB right now and has seen over 16 opportunities in every single game so far with at least 85 yards in three of those games. Follow the volume with Sanders right now and if Sirianni is comfortable playing Sanders, you should be too.

Breece Hall vs Dolphins

Breece Hall has officially taken the starting RB job for the Jets and has had 15 PPR points in each of the last two games and double digits in all four games so far. A true three down back, Hall has seen the second most targets for a RB and should continue to be the lead back against a Dolphins defense that has given up a touchdown to a RB in three of its four games this season.

RB Sit

Antonio Gibson vs Titans

Antonio Gibson seems to be losing the hold on the starting job in Washington as he’s seen a huge drop off in Snap Share and Fantasy Points. Brian Robinson is back and we expect him to be eased in but even without Robinson in the lineup Gibson has been losing work to JD McKissic and Jonathan Williams (who?). Gibson is no more than a Flex option with low upside.

WR Starts

Chris Godwin vs Falcons

Godwin returned to the lineup and immediately saw 10 targets and turned them into 7 catches for 59 yards against the Chiefs. The former Penn State star looks healthy again and finds himself in a huge spot against the Falcons. Atlanta’s young stud AJ Terrell will probably be on Mike Evans more and Godwin has feasted against the Falcons with 35 catches for 558 and 6 touchdowns in his last five games.

Jakobi Meyers vs Lions

The Patriots will most likely be without Mac Jones this week but it doesn’t matter, the Lions are giving up 35.3 points per game. Meyers will return to the lineup after 2 weeks and should slide right into the #1 spot seeing double digit targets. Against a team who gives up that much production per game Meyers figures to see a heavy workload for the Bailey Zappe led Patriots offense.

WR Sit

Diontae Johnson at Bills

Johnson was kept in check in week 4 with only 2 catches for 11 yards. Kenny Pickett will get the start this week against a Defense who is not giving up big games to pass catchers. With the QB change and tough matchup he is nothing more than a FLEX if you have no other options.

TE Start

Gerald Everett at Browns

Gerald Everett has seen an uptick of targets without Keenan Allen and in a game that expects to have points scored Everett's TD upside is hgh.

TE Sit

Honestly there really isn't a clear sit with how bad the TE Landscape is, especially in a week with Pitts and Knox already ruled out.
